Testing out NEW template grounds as well, like I did for "Squid Baby", and ironically, it has Squidward as the main focus. Weird...

Also, something that I wanted to add to this, but didn't in time, it related to why PieGuyRulz likes "No Hat For Pat". I honestly see this, along with a way to readjust some Spongebob characters, as a deconstruction of fans in general on social media sites, namely sites that claim to be for social justice, like Twitter or more commonly Tumblr.

I mean, think about it. Squidward, a nobody working at a dead-end job, suddenly sees that Spongebob, his rival and enemy as previous episodes established, was busy with something. Going to work, Spongebob than delivers the Krabby Patties in a very fashionable style, getting the love and attention of the crowds like he always does. Now, Squidward finds out that Spongebob has a book he keeps secret, but now Spongebob returned to his station, taking the book with him. Unaware of what it is, and eager to find out, Squidward sends Spongebob out on a bogus delivery quest, only to NOW find out that it's his diary. After opening it and reading Spongebob's mind and his absent mindedness towards Squidward, further cementing their roles of enemies this episode, a crowd slowly develops a interest in the diary, and the ensuring embarrassment that happens to Spongebob when his secrets are used. (And P.S., I still love that bubble blowing=smoking scene.) Once Spongebob sees it, he runs off in tears, causing the people who previously liked the torturing of something they seem silly and nonsensical as something serious, of course, besides Squidward, and start getting angry at him for bringing them into his diary reading game. Mr. Krabs, the only one who actually has room to speak in this episode believe it or not, actually tries to get Squidward to apologize to Spongebob. Considering that mere episodes later he would be selling said employee for a nickel, that's...actually a nice move on Krab's parts, still showing care for his employees. He only didn't call out Squidward with his plaid skirt trick because he didn't think Spongebob was that hurt, and seeing how easily Spongebob recovered, it was reasonable for thinking so. Now, a new voice is heard in Bikini Bottom, the voice of hating the reading of the diary compared to the sole individual that loves it still. I see this as a representation of how easily a tide on the internet can turn from making someone famous to making someone a fool, kind of like their "15 Minutes Of Fame". New fish are up hating Squidward as they are now the popular tide of the sea, pun intended. Soon enough, Squidward's house is taken away, along with him being in shackles, reflecting on what the users on Twitter, or more commonly Tumblr, think of what TRUE justice is for a crime no matter what nature, and that's ruining their life till nothing remains. (No joke, I heard that a tumblr user's HOUSE was burned down because they were believed to be a white male.) Eventually, it's revealed that Spongebob made a book out of his exploit, cashing in on what was caused by Squidward's crimes, thus rendering his sufferings unneeded. Broken by this, Squidward has literally nothing else to lose and decides to just enjoy what he can, even though he is already hated by the town. (Like what some users do instead of getting involved with all of the raging.)

So, what's the moral here? Well, we are given the building blocks for morals, but personally, I take it as this: No matter what you do, no matter how you play the game...

Somebody's gonna lose...

Oh wait, that was the moral of :replaying: the game...

Anyway, if people can look at "Just One Bite" and say it's a drug reference and people can refer to "The Krusty Sponge" as a metaphor for Nickelodeon, I don't see why I can't look at this episode as a metaphor for social websites and fans.

I enjoyed the episode. But I just wanna point out the cruelty Spongebob gets from Squidward is not fair...Spongebob may be annoying and odd a lot of the time and drive Squidward crazy but its not his intention, he doesn't want to hurt Squidward on purpose, he is simply having fun. He has done a lot for Squidward even though he can be quite creepy, his the only one that appreciates his talents and hobbies, his the only one that is always there for him, and he has saved him several times. What has squidward done to spongebob? tried to kill him several times, split apart Spongebob and Patricks friendship a few times, tried to get him lost many times, has rarely been there for Spongebob, tried to sacrifice him in the 2nd spongebob movie, has excluded spongebob, ignored spongebob, used spongebob, injures him, manipulated him and embarassed him. I know Spongebob and Squidward are friend-ish, and Squidward has done nice things for Spongebob and does care about him and I know that Spongebob is really really annoying to have as a neighbour and co-worker...but holy crap, comparing the ratio of Spongebob vs Squidward in terms of kindness towards the other, Spongebob is a lot higher. Spongebob has been cruel to Squidward before sometimes intentional but Squidward seriously has done it so much worse....I've watched majority of spongebob episodes, even the modern ones...and Spongebob just really doesn't deserve the hate he gets.

I'd like to also point out that Squidward isn't the only one being a jerk to Spongebob.. Mr krabs, Patrick, Mrs. Puff, Plankton, Pearl, Sandy, Gary ect...just lots of characters Spongebob considers his friends.. You can't forget that horrible whobob what pants episode, where everyone there wanted him gone and the MANY episodes where Mr krabs only cared about him just for his business.....And the spongebob gone episode where even Patrick said that he needs a break from spongebob's behaviour every now and then...

If I had to list out whos meanest to spongebob to least, it probs be like

Squidward, Plankton, Mr Krabs, Patrick, Mrs. Puff, Pearl, Sandy, Gary...Which is a shame, he really needs better support....

The reason why I enjoyed the episode is because of the humour, and the punishment Squidward got at the end....I still think it was horrible what he did to Spongebob though.
