Description

It is finally all guessed right! Thank you, all 4 people who guessed them right!
:iconadvancedshippingfan: :iconyamithetrixter: :iconcookieofcourage: :iconvalkyrie-of-light:
Now let me show you why I love them now! Oh, BTW, potential spoilers alert!

10. "Fight me!"
:iconmetaknightplz:
Name: Meta Knight
Franchise: Kirby
Theme: [link]
Meta Knight is a badass, through and through. He is Kirby's constant rival/mentor (depends on the game or anime episode) through out the series, and he always does a great job always being a interesting rival for Kirby, always making sure that the challenge is fair before the fight. The thing that makes him interesting is that he really has no set morals, neither a good guy, nor a bad guy, just a guy who thinks of what is best for the world. Heck, I heard that the plot in the European/Japanese/anywhere but here in the USA version of "Revenge Of Meta Knight" was basically Meta Knight trying to put Dream Land on a health workout! That statement ALONE solidifies his slot here!

9. "Hahaha."
:iconsmb--carpaccio:
Name: Carpaccio
Franchise: Wario Master Of Disguise
Theme: [link]
Carpaccio, is one swave motherfucker. He is the leader of Sigil Secretaries (Where the slogan is "We watch your back...that way it is easier to pick your pockets!") and also a master thief like Wario and Count Cannoli and is on a race with them to get to the wishing sta-I mean, get all the wishstone tablets before they could, but where Wario and Cannoli wanted it for greedy reasons, Carpaccio was doing it for a different reason. He wanted to keep them from getting the wishstones together in order to stop the summoning of a Evil Spirit called Tiaramisu. He gives off a Knuckles vibe and that he honestly is trying to do the right thing, if coming off with wrong ways, and I like those kinds of characters.

8. "Ride on!"
:iconask-beat-jsrf:
Name: Beat
Franchise: Jet Set Radio
Theme: [link]
Beat is a interesting character. From first glance and looks at him behaviors, you believe that he is just a human Sonic who sprays paint. And you know right? Your right. But there is quite a lot more to him. Beat is part of the rudies, people who ranaway from home and who opposes the police and fights against opposition from them with graffiti (are you really question video game logic?), seeing that the rules are unfair and stops creativity. So basically, it's the cliche of the government is evil and those who hate it and fight against it is the good guys, which is another cliche that I like. Plus, Beat manages to be the founder of the most successful group, the GG's. And how he got to it is kind-of sad when you think about it. Beat tried out for the other rudie groups, but were rejected from them, and let me just say right now, rejection is NOT something I, or others, like, and to boot, since rudies are people who ran away from home, he actually has no place to go now. He than decides to open up his own rudie group, the GG's, with Gum and Tab as their. And as they say, the rest is history.

7. "PLAY BALL!"
:iconscoutplz:
Name: Scout
Franchise: Team Fortress 2
Theme: [link]
Many people dismiss the Scout as the weakest member who has the sole purpose of annoying people and spamming "NEED A DISPENSER HERE!" And to that, I say this. BULLSHIT! The Scout is my favorite class on TF2 due to how easy and vital he can be if used correctly. The Scout can capture control points and push bombs twice as fast as any other class, making him a MUST for playing those missions for quick captures. He is also the FASTEST THING ALIVE!...on TF2. Meaning that he can capture the enemy intelligence faster than any other team member, meaning that Scout is the go to character when you want a job done quick. His weapons are mostly based around house hold items, like the Bonk! Atomic punch or the Holy Mackerel, and let me tell you, they can be DEVASTATING if used right. Like, try the Force-A-Nature, Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol, and Atomizer combo. You can do 3 jumps (4 if you aimed the Force-A-Nature against a close wall) and only lose 10 hp no matter what! The Pretty Boy's Pocket pistol allows you to block out ANY fall damage, making risky jumps that lead to death (minus actual out of zone areas) cost NOTHING since if you fail, no harm is done! He is also a good choice for Mann VS. Machine because you need someone of his speed to get all the money, and believe me, that WILL help! Also, he has to have the best personality of ALL the characters on the game! He is cocky, egotistical, and HILARIOUS AS HECK! His Boston accent just makes his insults and domination quotes so much funnier! Overall, give the Scout a go! You won't regret it.

6. "The world begins with you."
:iconnekuplz:
Name: Neku Sakuraba
Franchise: The World Ends With You
Theme: [link]
Neku is a character that I should HONESTLY hate off the bat. He is basically emo who just wants all of the world to just do NOTHING with him. Than the Reaper's games start...than he begins an actually pretty good character development start, growing up from a "Paul" like character to a "Shadow" like character. He becomes more open, more will to help, and more like Shadow's character, minus getting amnesia every single game. (Note: Shadow is my 2nd favorite Sonic character. My favorite is next after Neku.) And how Neku grows up is where he really gets the points. During the Reaper games, he is forced to team up with other players, like Shiki, who came into the games out of jealousy and when partnered with Neku is my OTP for the Franchise, Beat, who is also a player in the games who came in to save his sister Rhyme, and Joshua, who...
...
Ok, my hands go up. He is overrated. Yeah, I said it!
*Pitchforks rise a nation away*
Whoa there! I will be posting a top 10 overrated characters list, and he will be on it, and I'll explain it there.
Anyway, back to Neku. He goes through 3 weeks, 1 with each different partner, and at the end of each week, you can see how much he has grown onto them. Even his second weeks entry fee is actually Shiki herself. (And if you don't know, the entry fees are the person's most treasured thing ever. Like if I was going to have a entry fee, it would be my love for the gaming media, since it helped me be shaped into who I am today.) It really shows how much he changed. And by the ending, character development comes full-way around. So all in all, Neku may not be a character in the top 5, but he will always be remembered as one the special people in my heart.

5. "I'll probably be on this floating island forever, guarding the Master Emerald again. I may not know the whole story behind this, but perhaps it's better that way. I'm at peace once more."
:iconknucklesplz:
Name: Knuckles The Echidna
Franchise: Sonic The Hedgehog
Theme: [link]
Knuckles is honestly a deeply developed character for a series that is all about running and jumping. Knuckles is Sonic's rival who first appeared in Sonic 3, where he steals all of Sonic's chaos emeralds. Now, it may seems like he is a douche for doing that, but there actually is a really good reason for it. Dr. Robotnik tricked him into thinking that Sonic and Tails were going to steal the Master Emerald, a artifact which is pretty much the thing that is keeping Knuckles homeland, Angel Island, a float above the sea, meaning if the Emerald is gone, and so is Angel Island. Knuckles is actually the guardian of it for the rest of his LIFE! That must stink, even to levels of Shadow, when it is living longer than your friends and seeing them die, but knowing you can't die and reunite with them. Knuckle than makes amends with Sonic and stops Robotnik from stealing the Master Emerald. He than grew from Sonic's enemy to just his rival. He than will go on into the Sonic Adventure series, and he is STILL protecting the emerald! Determination much?!? Anyway, in the first game, he is greeted with Chaos destroying the Master Emerald, and leaving Knuckles to pick up all the lost pieces and to put it back together. And before and after the incident, Knuckles is left thinking about why he is still protecting the master emerald, and it kind of is sad seeing someone being forced to be like that, protecting a rock for his whole life...
But than by Sonic Adventure 2, we see that the emerald is actually from a DIFFERENT location than Angel Island, and now he is trying to keep it out of Eggman's hands, and Rouge's hands, a seductive snarky batwoman thief. He even went as far as to BREAK it as Eggman was about to get away with it. Why didn't he stop Eggman by attacking HIM, I have no idea, but it seems like the Master Emerald has some new rules since the last game...
and speaking of new rules, Knuckles who was originally the last of his kind, turns out to have other ECHIDNAS all around in Sonic and The Dark Brotherhood, but seeing as these games have multiple canons, I am not going to be judgmental on that, just judging Knuckles, and my judgement is this! Knuckles is a deep, compelling character who is more than worthy of the number 5 spot.

4. "I BLAME OUR SCHOOLS!"
*No picture of them, the 1 I used is the closest I can get. Sorry*
Names: Kreese Kreely and Howard Buckshot Holmes
Franchise: Mad World
Theme: [link]
These guys are HILARIOUS AS FUCK! Not only are all the lines they spew out are made from pure PLATINUM, but they even have some bit of character behind them. Kreese actually was a formal deathwatch competitor, who sustained many (actually) humorous injuries lost to Elise, and no, not the Elise Sonic 2006! And Howard apparently was a formally married man for 8 years to a wife who slept with many other man and was unfaithful to him, leading him to kill her, and that honestly is something sadly not that odd to see in a newspaper. This gives him the job that he has now. And the humor they dish...just watch these 2 videos and TRY to not laugh.
Part 1:[link]
Part 2:[link]
You see what I'm talking about now? And honestly, if we got to know more about them, they would probably be higher up. But still, these 2 dudes are hilarious and insane as fuck, and I love them for it!

3. "LET'S A GO!"
:iconmarioplz:
Name: Mario
Franchise: Super Mario Bros.
Theme: [link]
Oh come on, how can I not put Mario, the main gaming man, as well as the man who got me into gaming itself onto this list? There is just SO MUCH to him that others overlook that it isn't even funny. Mario is a heroic plumber who's only goal is to make right in the world, and yet, he still manages to show his limits, like him getting sick in Superstar Saga, scared in the Engimansion in Sticker Star, and him almost dying in the beginning of the original Super Mario Galaxy. Mario is also shown to have emotions and flaws in the sport games and Fortune street by his actions and dialogue respectively. Mario is shown to also be cocky at times, not immune to anger, and shown to be too full of himself for his own good. And you know what? Good! It just makes Mario more relate-able, like his character is trying to say "No one is perfect, so be the best human that you can be!" His character also shows that while he is all up for saving the princess no matter how many times, he STILL likes his brother Luigi a lot, possibly even MORE than Peach, and this is something that people overlook a LOT! They say that since Mario is the main character, he overshadows Luigi and is abusive to him since he never really gotten his own time in the limelight, minus 2 games, soon to be 3, and this just really IRKS me! did they even PLAY the Mario and Luigi games? They shown to care very deeply about each other and when they are reunited in the games, they more often or not hug each other and Luigi starts crying, showing that they truly miss each other. And whenever one bro is in danger, they go after them to save them, like Mario saving Luigi in SuperStar Saga, or Luigi saving Mario in Bowser's Inside Story. There is a whole lot to him that people take for granted. Overall, Mario is actually a very good character from my favorite franchise. Shine on Mario, Shine on.

2. "Woo-hoo! Fire!"
:icon9-voltplz:
Name: 9-volt
Franchise: Wario-Ware
Theme: (...ok, not really his theme song, but it represents him the best.) [link]
9-volt, is pretty much a kid version of me. He is cute, a bit of a trouble maker, but nothing too seriously, and oh yeah, is the BIGGEST NINTENDO FAN EVER! And I am serious about this! His bio states that he owns every single Nintendo game, accessory, and collective EVER, and that is NO small feat for someone of his age! And to top it all off, he is an engineer of microgames, and let me tell you this, if you EVER played any Warioware game, than his games were the best out of all of them. They were pretty much the definition of nostalgia! They had NES games, SNES games, Famicon games, and games only people in the 80's know. True, his games did become more modern as shown in Smooth Moves, but as long as they are fun to play, that's all that matters! And I bet you that the reason Kid Icarus got his sequel, Uprising, it because people played his Kid Icarus microgame, than decided to play the ACTUAL game, than they wanted more, so Nintendo made it! And to boot, he is also shown to have some sort of intelligence higher than other kids his age. What do I mean by that? Well besides from making microgames with the wonders of technology, he also shown to left Warioware, a company ran by a major Nintendo charcter, and started business elsewhere in Diamond City Software. This can imply that 9-volt is all up in working for Nintendo characters, but has enough intelligence to KNOW when to quit. It's these kinds of characters, who have deeper meanings when you look closer at them that I like, and combine that with traits that I should have gained as a kid, than you get a very good character.

But here's a question, if HE isn't my favorite, than who is? Well, let's recap!

10. Meta Knight of Kirby

9. Carpaccio of Wario Master Of Disguise

8. Beat of Jet Set Radio

7. Scout of Team Fortress 2

6. Neku Of The World Ends With You.

5. Knuckles Of Sonic The Hedgehog.

4. Kreese Kreeley and Howard Buckshot Holmes of Madworld.

3. Mario of Super Mario Bros.

and number 2, 9-volt of Warioware.

Number 1...

In order for a character to be number 1 here, they have to be brilliantly designed to function well in the game, manage to be a key part of the game, even if you need to think harder about it, have something that is very unique to them, that it is impossible to think of that thing without thinking of the character, and they need to actually affect ME in the real world. And I think I found it...

"Do you know this song?"
[link]
Name: Margaret Moonlight
Franchise: No More Heroes
Theme: [link]
OH! SWEET! MIYAMOTO! YES! Margaret Moonlight is without a doubt, my favorite character in ANY media! Where to begin...
Firstly, she was allured by Sylvia during the fights in the Super Market level. According to her, she is nicknamed the Goddess Of Death, and she sings a song while killing her victims, and more often or not, if you heard it, you would pretty much be CLOSE TO DEAD! Also worth mentioning, Sylvia once actually heard her song, from 100 yards away, causing her to pass out for a entire WEEK! That, is pretty impressive of a song to do that!
Secondly, JUST LOOK AT HER! If you say that isn't at least hot, than I KNOW your lying.
Third, the build-up to the fight. Yeah yeah, everyone knows of the fact that you have to fight a crap ton of dudes in the parking lot and inside the store, but they serve a purpose. By the time your done and reach her, it is midnight, and the moon is shining the brightest at this time, true to her name, Margaret Moonlight.
Fourth, her song. I only heard ONE person in my entire LIFE of being on the internet saying that they didn't like it, and that is like 1 to, like, 10,000! Yeah, the song really IS catchy as hell! And that's not all, if you listen closely to her song, it actually is pretty much a direct INSULT to Travis, as if it was prepared ahead of time. And the theme I used? It actually is one of the 3 songs she sang during the fight. There is 1 song for each region.
The song I used is my favorite version, the Japanese one, since while it is still upbeat, it is also somewhat melancholy, as if it is saying that this fight could have been avoided.
[link] This version is the USA version, and is more fast paced and quite energizing to listen too.
[link] The pal version is a mixture of both of these songs. The USA upbeat vocals, and the Japan's tone.
Fifth, her weapons, the Le croissant du ange, or as it is called in English, the Cresent of The Angel. It is both sniper rifles AND scythes into one.How is that not awesome?!?
Sixth, the battle itself. It is the fairest battle in the game without it being too easy or too hard. There is plenty of room for you to get out of her sight for her rifles, and if you get hit and you block it, you lose a good chunk of your katana's energy. However, since there is so much places for you to hide behind, getting your energy back is easier than you could think. Pretty much the only think that can be CALLED cheap is her long distance shots, but as long as you can dodge well, it is pretty forgiving. There is also a very clear way on how to win, unlike other bosses in the the games, hey Jasper.
*Note, Marioking9834 doesn't hate Jasper Batt Jr as much as the other players&
And finally, how she affected Travis as well as me. Up to that point in the game, Travis really didn't see the other assassin's as anyone really important, or actually HUMAN. After this fight, you can tell that Travis is starting to get a clue that their may be more to the assassins than he thinks. Sure, it really was clear during the Alice Twilight fight, but this is where it all starts. And how it affected me, well, it showed that despite someone or something looking like a complete tool or villain, they can STILL be designed as a very good character, maybe even the best, and I will tell you this. This idea is applied the BEST to her than any other character in any other media, even surpassing Darkrai and Shadow. She also managed to show me that just about ANYONE, despite how gothic or different they may be from me, they can STILL be a interesting or like-able person, and this made me see people who I thought were not worth much, like other NPCS or other villains, in a new light. Sure, I still see all the bad in them and that STILL stands out, like to Paul from Pokemon and Megan Parker of Drake and Josh, but still, it IS something that I don't regret learning.
Overall, Margaret Moonlight is the best character in all of gaming media, as well as any other media. She is powerful, insanely creative, and overall, a memorable character. If you guys know Fawful's Minion of youtube, than as Fawful's Minion is to Darkrai, so is me to Margaret Moonlight.
I'm Marioking9834, and next time you see me here...
